BIO: Kate McDermott is the author of “From the Brink to Brilliant: The Revitalization of Downtown Frederick, Maryland.” She is a freelance writer and journalist, working with clients that range from national transportation companies to major medical centers and biotechnology firms. She holds a degree in journalism from Kent State University and resides in Frederick.
